Like all good ideas, the premise is simple.

Pain does not occur at the point of pain - but in the connective tissue attached to the articulation where the pain is felt, which, in the absence of any structural or skeletal underlying issue, can be alleviated or reduced by rebalancing and or strengthening the muscles nearest to that joint in pain.

So many people are put off by the word FASTING.

It holds various negative connotations for most, which is a pity, as this simple act of denying yourself food for a short peiod of time, can be hugely beneficial.


Everybody has fasted at some point in their lives, with perhaps the first time being when you simply felt too ill to eat- maybe as a child -  and couldn't face food for a few days, whilst consuming liquids. of course.


At that point your stomach was free from having to digest solids.


And that, simply, is the nearest definition of fasting you can find.

If you have cancer, then most of these foods should be included in your daily protocol.

A new scientific review identifies 25 of the top foods and herbs which kill the cancer stem cells at the root cause of cancer malignancy.


And top of the list is Green Tea!


The primary reason why conventional chemotherapy and also  radiotherapy have failed to produce any significant improvements in cancer survival rates is because cancer stem cells are resistant to these interventions. In fact, chemotherapy and especially radiation are both capable of increasing the number and virulence of these cells in a tumor, while at the same time having the well known side effect of further damaging the patient's immune system.


The new study addresses the relevance of cancer stem cells as follows:


The cancer stem cell model suggests that tumor initiation is governed by a small subset of distinct cells with stem-like character termed cancer stem cells (CSCs). CSCs possess properties of self-renewal and intrinsic survival mechanisms that contribute to resistance of tumors to most chemotherapeutic drugs. The failure to eradicate CSCs during the course of therapy is postulated to be the driving force for tumor recurrence and metastasis. Recent studies have focused on understanding the unique phenotypic properties of CSCs from various tumor types, as well as the signaling pathways that underlie self-renewal and drug resistance." the full article....


Cancer isn't always 'just one of those things'. In fact, nearly half of all cases need never have happened if the person had adopted a healthier lifestyle, a major new research project has discovered.

Smoking is by far and away the single major cause of cancer, but being obese, drinking too much alcohol, having a poor diet and being physically inactive combined are the second major cause.

Overall, 42 per cent of the 659,640 new cancer cases reported in the US every year were directly caused by poor lifestyle, as were half the 265,000 annual cancer deaths, say researchers from the American Cancer Society.

And even this is likely to be an under-estimate of the real figures because lifestyle choices are hard to track, and there may also be other risk factors in the way we live that haven't yet been recognised as increasing the risk of cancer.

The researchers assessed the impact of lifestyle choices on 26 different cancers, and discovered that cigarette smoking alone was directly responsible for 19 per cent of all cancer cases reported every year, and nearly 29 per cent of all cancer deaths. Obesity was the next highest risk factor, responsible for nearly 8 per cent of cases, and excessive drinking, which was reckoned to cause nearly 6 per cent of cancers.

But there was a complex mix of factors at play, the researchers said, and a poor diet with too little fresh fruits and vegetables, dietary fibre, physical inactivity and infections all played a part.

Half of all cancers caused by poor lifestyle

All forms of hormonal contraception increase a woman's risk of breast cancer—and that's also true for the 'safer' progesterone-only pill, a major new study has found.


They increase the risk by around 20 per cent on average, and some risk was still there even five years after stopping.


Women who have taken a hormone contraceptive—and this also includes non-oral devices such as the hormone-intrauterine system (IUS)—for a year or less have a 9 per cent raised risk, and the risk rose to 38 per cent among those who've used hormone contraception for more than 10 years.


Researchers from the University of Copenhagen tracked the health of 1.8 million women for nearly 11 years. During that time, 11,517 women developed breast cancer, and the researchers noted that those who were taking some form of hormonal contraceptive were more likely to do so than those who weren't using the contraceptives. The risk was just as evident among women who were taking the supposedly safer progesterone-only contraceptive.


Overall, the contraceptive was responsible for one extra case of breast cancer for every 7,690 women taking it for at least a year, and there would be one additional case for every 1,500 women taking the pill for five years or longer.



The one piece of good news was that the risk was relative and not absolute. That means that other factors could have played a part in the women getting the cancer—such as diet or pollution—and it couldn't be established that only the pill was responsible
